Marc Bernal was unable to finish Tuesday’s game against Rayo Vallecano (1-2) and left Bar\u00e7a with one man down in the final stretch of the match. The academy player was injured in an action with Isi on the touchline and, after being treated, was unable to return to the pitch. It was the bitterest note of the night and it tarnished Bar\u00e7a’s comeback in Vallecas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hansi Flick, FC Barcelona coach, was the first to regret Marc Bernal’s injury: “I am very sad about Bernal’s injury, the dressing room is very affected, his situation hurts us a lot,” said the German coach, who had bet heavily on the academy player, giving him three starts in the first three league games.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tests carried out by the Barcelona club’s medical services this morning have confirmed the worst forecasts and the La Masia midfielder is out for the rest of the season, due to a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament with an injury to the meniscus in his left knee.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

After subjecting the player to various tests this morning, the FC Barcelona medical services have issued the following medical report: Marc Bernal has a tear in the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee and an injury associated with the external meniscus. He will undergo surgical treatment in the coming days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What he is missing<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Although the club did not specify how long Marc Bernal will be out, the midfielder is out for the season.
