The Red Devils will not play in the Champions League next season, after they failed to occupy one of the top four places in the English Premier League standings, and they now only have to win the cup final against Manchester City so as not to emerge with another zero season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a lengthy interview with Sky Sports,\u00a0Ten Hag\u00a0explained the reason for his failure to implement his playing style, with which he achieved amazing results with Ajax Amsterdam, at Manchester United, explaining that he was unable to obtain the appropriate players to implement his plans at Old Trafford.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Specifically, Ten Hag talked about specific players he wanted to sign and Manchester United could not fulfill his request. The first is Harry Kane, about whom the Dutch coach said: We wanted Harry Kane because he is a player who guarantees you 30 goals per season and this is a very complicated matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>He added: \u201cWe have Hoyland, who is a very good striker, but he is still young. &#8220;I&#8217;m sure that in time he will be able to reach those numbers, but Harry Kane was a player who guaranteed you goals straight away.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The second player is\u00a0Frenkie de Jong\u00a0, whom Ten Hag admitted that not signing him caused his failure to implement his plans with Manchester United, as he said: \u201cTo play a certain way you need very specific players. Yes, we went to sign De Jong and we couldn&#8217;t. He is a player who would have complemented himself very well with Casemiro in midfield to develop the game we wanted.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Ten Hag confirmed that Manchester United had completed an agreement with Barcelona in 2022 regarding the signing of Frenkie de Jong, but the Dutch player refused to leave Camp Nou.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Another season to forget at Manchester United.
