Ousman Dembele’s “painful” response to Paris Saint-Germain’s offer

Barcelona knows that Paris Saint-Germain has already contacted Ousman Dembele and his agents in order to sign him during the current summer Mercato by paying the penalty clause in his contract. The Parisian club replaced the French winger as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is likely to leave this summer to Real Madrid.

Ousman Dembele’s contractual position with Barcelona is considered attractive to all major European teams, as his contract expires next season, in addition to the presence of a penalty clause of 50 million euros only valid until July 31, so Paris Saint-Germain wants to end the agreement with the French wing before the first of August.

As of August 1, the value of the release clause will rise to 100 million euros, a figure that may be appropriate for a player with the capabilities of Ousmane Dembele, but it may be a large amount for a player whose contract will expire in one year. For this, Barcelona opened new negotiations with Dembele and his entourage in order to renew his contract.

According to the Catalan newspaper Sport, Dembele’s desire is to continue with Barcelona and renew his contract with the Catalan club, with a lower salary than what Paris Saint-Germain offered.

Dembele’s response came painfully to Paris Saint-Germain: I want to succeed at Camp Nou and win championships with the Barcelona shirt. The French winger would sacrifice a much larger salary for that and would rather succeed under Xavi than Nasser Al-Khelaifi’s money.
