Laporta admits: “Barcelona is negotiating the player who is wanted by all European giants”

Juan Laporta, president of Barcelona, acknowledged that his club is negotiating with one of the players that most of the big European clubs are fighting over, and confirmed that the deal is on the right track.

Barcelona is working to strengthen its team for the next season in light of the financial constraints resulting from its crisis with the laws of fair financial play, forcing it to negotiate cheap deals or with players whose contracts with their clubs expired, as happened in the Ilkay Gundogan deal.

One of those deals that Barcelona seeks to secure for the future of the team is Arda Guler (18 years), the player of the Turkish club Fenerbahce, who has a termination clause of 16 million euros, which is an easy number for most big clubs.

Barcelona sent its new sports director, Deco, to finish the deal, and Real Madrid sent Butragueno and Roberto Carlos for the same goal, but according to what was reported by the Catalan newspaper Sport, Barcelona is ahead of the royal in the negotiations so far.

And during his presence at an event related to the Barcelona fans, he confirmed that his club is trying to sign with the promising Turkish player, saying: “Arda Guler is a very young Turkish player.

Laporta also took the opportunity to talk about the team’s future, saying: “Winning six league titles in one season with the six professional teams is a source of great pride. We also have the feasibility plan approved by La Liga, but we want more.

He concluded: “We are not satisfied with this and we have to jump to Europe, and this is why we are strengthening ourselves. I like that La Liga has the best players in the world and we are the first to do so.”
