Barcelona achieved their second and well-deserved victory in the Spanish League this season over Athletic Bilbao, with a score of 2/1, at the Olympic Stadium in Montjuic.
Barcelona’s goals were scored by Lamine Yamal in the 24th minute and Lewandowski in the 74th minute, while Athletic Bilbao’s goal was scored by Obhan Sanset in the 42nd minute from a penalty kick caused by Coparsi.
This victory is considered a great success for the new coach of the Catalan team, Hans Flick, who is suffering from a severe shortage of players due to injuries as well as salary cap problems that have caused Dani Olmo not to register in the La Liga League yet.
After the match, Marca praised Barcelona striker Robert Lewandowski, describing his performance against Athletic Bilbao as a clear challenge to biology.
“The Polish international hit the post twice against Athletic Bilbao, once in each half,” Marca said. “He also came close to scoring in the 64th minute but was denied by a brilliant save from Padilla. He didn’t stop looking for a goal throughout the match: he finally found it, in the 75th minute.”
“The former Bayern Munich player turned 36 on Wednesday, but his goal is a constant challenge to biology. He shows up even when you think he’s not there,” it added.
