Barcelona Club issued an official statement this morning, Thursday, in which it clarified the return of two first-team players from injury and their receipt of medical clearance to participate in training and matches.
Barcelona is preparing to travel to the United States of America to hold a summer training camp, under the leadership of Hans Flick, before the start of the new season, which will start in mid-August with a match against Valencia in the first round of La Liga.
Barcelona is suffering from an injury crisis that has hit the team, most notably the absence of Gavi, Pedri, Balde, Frenkie de Jong and Ronald Araujo, who recently underwent surgery and will be absent for 4 months.
But today Barcelona announced the return of Alejandro Balde and Julian Araujo to group training and their receipt of medical clearance to travel to the United States of America to participate in the summer training camp.
The news is good news for the German coach, who is suffering from a shortage in some positions such as left-back, which means that the return of Alejandro Balde is a strong boost for the team, as well as Julian Araujo, who will be available to occupy the right-back position, a position that has always been a headache for Xavi last season.
Barcelona will play three tough matches in the preparation period, as they will face Manchester City on July 31, then Real Madrid on August 3, and AC Milan on August 6.
Barcelona statement:
The good news is that Alejandro Balde and Julian Araujo are fully fit as the full-backs took part in Thursday’s training session with the rest of Hansi Flick’s squad in today’s first training session at the Ciutat Esportiva.
The training session took place at the Tito Vilanova Stadium as the team focused on the upcoming tour of the United States and the first friendly match of the pre-season against Manchester City on Wednesday, July 31 in Orlando, Florida.
