The English club Chelsea announced its third summer deal by signing a player from the Spanish club Barcelona, a deal that has sparked widespread controversy over the past few days.
Chelsea had signed Omari kellyman from Aston Villa and Tosin Adarabioyo from Fulham. The Blues spent 22 million euros to acquire the services of Omari Kylieman, a winger and Aston Villa playmaker, while Adarabioyo joined on a free transfer.
Today, Chelsea announced that it has dealt a major blow to Barcelona by signing its young striker, Marc Guiu, who is only 18 years old and participated in 7 matches with the first team last season and scored two goals.
Although Chelsea did not announce the financial compensation for the deal, reports coming from Spain claim that the English club has paid only 6 million euros, which is the value of the release clause in the player’s contract.
Barcelona had tried to renew Guiu’s contract, improve his contract and raise the penalty clause, but he preferred to move to Chelsea and try his luck in the English Premier League.
