The German newspaper Bild said that the potential coach to sit on the Barcelona bench, succeeding Xavi Hernandez, has already begun to master the Spanish language in preparation for starting his mission next summer.
Xavi Hernandez had announced that he would leave Barcelona at the end of the current season after a series of bad results, the last of which was a 5-3 defeat to Villarreal, which prompted Laporta and Deco to prepare a list of potential coaches to take over the job next June.
Hansi Flick , former German coach, is one of the names that has been linked to Barcelona for next season. The 58-year-old German coach is currently without a team and would welcome taking over from Xavi Hernández at the end of the season.
This is stated by the newspaper Bild, who is well versed in the former Bayern Munich coach , with whom Flick won the treble in 2020. What’s more, the German media gives more details. He insists that Flick is looking for a new challenge in the summer and that it would be a good fit for him to coach Barça. So much so, that the technician has started Spanish classes to learn the language.
Joan Laporta has always liked the German route , as he announced in the last electoral campaign for the Barça presidency. What’s more, Bild itself also explained that Deco , on behalf of the Barça president, had contacted Flick to point out that he was on the shortlist of future coaches for the Catalan club.
Laporta , in the interview on RAC1 last week, did not deny it and passed the ball to Deco . Barça, however, denied this information.
