Jules Koundé is a special guy. He does what most footballers don’t usually do. He dresses the way he wants, with personality, he speaks openly about topics that his professional colleagues usually overlook . He sometimes dares to speak Catalan. And during these Christmas holidays he wanted to travel to his origins, to Benin, where he visited his maternal grandmother.
Within this ‘getaway’, Jules also went through Dakar (Senegal), where he spoke to the media and spoke about Barça and the Senegalese Mika Faye, one of the sensations of Barça Atlètic. “We have to find what made us strong last year, which was defense. We have to defend well together, make efforts together. I think the team is aware of that. I think this break has gone well for us. We have a lot of confidence and a lot of optimism. We will continue working very hard so that the second part of the season is better and we can win titles,” he explained about these first months of the season.
Regarding the reserve team’s centre-back, Jules commented that “I had the opportunity to get to know him a lot in the preseason and to see him a little recently as well. I think he has a lot of talent. He is very, very explosive, very dynamic, very aggressive, very good with the ball “He has a good left foot.”
More about the former Croatian Second Division footballer: “He recently arrived in a new country with a new language and I think he is doing very well, I have heard him speak a little Spanish already. I see someone who wants to work and I believe who has a bright future ahead of him.”
