Barcelona announces the end of the Dembele case: “We have closed this file”

Barcelona closed the curtain on the play of its French winger, Ousmane Dembele, who asked to leave for Paris Saint-Germain in an official letter in which he confirmed that he would activate the termination clause of 50 million euros.

After that, Xavi himself confirmed that Dembele did not want to stay, and that he had rejected the renewal offer made by Barcelona to him, and agreed to an attractive offer from Paris Saint-Germain. The Catalan coach at the time expressed his disappointment, as he described it, with Osman’s behavior.

Dembele then traveled to Paris in order to undergo a medical examination and sign his transfer contracts, but that did not happen, and instead of officially announcing his transfer to the team led by Luis Enrique, he returned to regular Barcelona training on Sunday.

And Sport newspaper said, last Saturday, that Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain had not yet reached a complete agreement, and the same newspaper confirmed that the two parties were still negotiating the financial consideration, the method and dates of payment.

And after Barcelona defeated Tottenham 4-2 in the Joan Gamper Cup match, today, Tuesday, Mateu Alemany, the Catalan club’s sports director, spoke about the Dembele operation.

Alemany said: “The situation with Dembele is very clear. He asked to leave and this is something that was proven in the renewal contract he signed with us last year.

He added, “We are in the process of finalizing the transition. Dembele is no longer in the first team . Dembele is in Paris. When the agreement is signed, we will announce the deal numbers, and thus close another file.”

The Barcelona sports director ended up throwing arrows at the French player: “We are happy with the players who want to be with us.”
