Barcelona accepts Dembele’s last request before leaving for PSG

The Spanish newspaper Sport reported that Osman Dembele made an official request to Barcelona in the past few hours, coinciding with Paris Saint-Germain’s request from the Catalan club to allow him to negotiate with the French winger.

Osman Dembele is just around the corner from moving to Paris Saint-Germain after he agreed to personal terms, but the way he leaves is the remaining dilemma now.

Ousmane Dembele has a release clause that allows him to leave for 50 million euros before August 1, and rises to 100 million euros after that date.

Othman does not want to leave in this way, he does not want his departure from the Catalan club to take place by depositing the penalty clause in the La Liga League, as happened in the Neymar operation in 2017.

Therefore, the French winger asked Barcelona to sit at the negotiating table with Paris Saint-Germain and reach a satisfactory price for the Catalan club to avoid ending the deal via the penalty clause.

According to Sport, Barcelona initially refused Dembele’s request, but after several hours Laporta and the sports administration agreed to sit at the negotiating table to try to achieve greater financial gains from the deal.

Barcelona wants to avoid Dembele’s departure by paying the penalty clause before midnight on July 31, because the 50 million euros will not all go to the treasury of the Catalan club, as Dembele and his agent will get half of it, which means that the Blaugrana will get only 25 million euros.

What Barcelona is trying to negotiate now is Dembele’s departure for 50 million euros, all of which will go into the club’s treasury, and it seems that the deal will take place at this price
