Qatar and Paris Saint-Germain are trying everything they can to keep Mbappe in Paris. Either he renews his contract and stays after 2024, or he benefits from selling it this summer for a lot of money. They want to avoid his worst-case scenario of going free.
The most likely outcome is a sale and the Parisian club is ready to sell its best player as long as the offer that benefits all parties arrives. Offers of varying prices, some as high as 200 million euros, arrived to impress Qatar.
With the Frenchman’s departure almost imminent, PSG are bound to find a guaranteed replacement. With Messi gone, PSG are already looking for the best striker to join Neymar and Mbappe, but they will need an additional striker if the Frenchman leaves as well. And one name is the most talked about: Ousmane Dembele.
This is not the first time the Catalan player has been linked with Paris Saint-Germain. However, the interest appears to be genuine this time around. According to ‘Footmercato’, Qatar is keen to sign Dembele as a replacement for Mbappe at Paris Saint-Germain. They think he’s a great player, French and with a reasonable release clause.
In addition, Luis Enrique also considers Dembele an important part of the latest Parisian project that the Asturian coach has in his hands. Footmercato claims Dembele’s future hinges on Mbappe’s decision.
Despite all this, Dembele has repeatedly said that he is happy at Barcelona and with Xavi Hernandez, and has shown no intention of leaving. Until further reports emerge, this will remain just a rumor.
