From Liverpool to Barça for free.. but Xavi Hernández says “no”

Barça ‘s delicate economic situation forces it to look for signings at zero cost, to capture top-level players who are out of contract, in order to save the cost of the transfer.

This is how footballers such as Eric Garcia, Christensen, Kessié or Agüero arrived and Íñigo Martínez and Gündogan have just signed for the club.

And the list could have been increased by Roberto Firmino , who was finishing his contract with Liverpool and who offered himself to Barça.

The Blaugrana sports management looked very favorably on the option of signing an experienced and versatile forward who was perfectly suited to Barça’s style of play.

The problem was when Firmino’s name came to the table of Xavi Hernández, who vetoed the signing , considering that the Brazilian forward was unnecessary and that it was better to prioritize other positions.

The Brazilian striker, without a team, received the call from Saudi Arabia and, with no interesting offers to continue in Europe, decided to sign for Al-Ahli.

Vitor Roque, the chosen one

And Xavi Hernández’s idea is to sign a different, more powerful and faster striker, who will be Robert Lewandowski’s substitute.

The chosen one is Vitor Roque , from Atlético Paranaense, who is one step away from signing for Barça , despite the fact that the Brazilian would not arrive until the winter market, when the competition ends in Brazil.

Until then, the Pole will be the only pure 9 in the squad, although players like Ansu Fati and Ferran Torres, if they do not leave Barça, can occupy the position.
