The sad end of Philippe Coutinho

Philippe Coutinho is experiencing a severe downturn in his career. The Brazilian did not find his place in Barcelona and his level was not the same. Now, Besiktas wants to sign the Brazilian and end his elite career.

As reported in Turkey, the Turkish club want Coutinho to arrive on loan with an option to buy of just €8m. In addition, Besiktas does not want to take on more than 40% of his current salary. Negotiations are ongoing.

The player who was the most expensive signing in Barcelona’s history is living his second spell in English football at Aston Villa. His first half of the season in 21/22 with them was promising with five goals and three assists in 19 matches, however, despite the opportunities available in the next half of the season until February, his numbers were again very poor: one goal in 22 matches.

Coutinho’s total transfers between clubs equal €180.3m, according to Transfermarkt. His first transfer was for 3.8 million euros when he left Vasco da Gama to Inter Milan.

Re-evaluated after his loan from Espanyol and his return to Inter, he flew straight to Liverpool to play at Anfield for €13m.

Barcelona fell in love with this great player and paid 135 million euros, but nothing happened as expected and after a loan for which Bayern paid 8.5 million, he was transferred to Aston Villa for 20 million. The Turkish team hopes to bring back the best version of the player from Rio de Janeiro.
