Herbert Hainer, president of Bayern Munich, attacked FC Barcelona and its coach Xavi Hernandez, accusing them of inciting one of his team’s most important players to leave for Camp Nou.
Bayern Munich lived a turbulent period at the end of last season, after its coach Julian Nagelsmann was suddenly dismissed, then Hassan Salih Hamidic and Oliver Kahn were dismissed from their posts moments after they narrowly won the German League title.
Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer expressed his discomfort with Barcelona’s behavior towards Joshua Kimmich. The German is one of the players that Xavi likes most to bolster his midfield and he couldn’t hide that in his public statements.
This situation upset the Bavarian club. Heyner said, in statements to Sky Sports: “I respect Barcelona and Xavi, who was an excellent player, but I do not understand why they flirt with our player in an open and offensive manner. Kimmich is the cornerstone of our project and his departure is totally unwelcome.”
He added, “We are committed to our current and future plans with complete safety.”
About Kimmich specifically, Robert Lewandowski also spoke yesterday, who was a teammate of his during his time as a player in the Bavarian team. The Barcelona striker believes that the Catalan club’s interest in the German player is logical: “Everyone loves Kimmich,” he said.
